Tribute to
Harriet Tubman

Tribute to Harriet Tubman, an escaped slave, abolitionist, holy woman, voted Bravest American in History by crew and fans of "Built To Save The Planet!" and "Fine Treehouse Building" for she was more than savvy enough to take refuge in a friendly sheltering tree or abandoned treehouse when the situation warranted, and we treehousers are honored and proud to proclaim her Bravest American in History hands down.

Bravest American in History

Harriet outsmarted hundreds of slave holders, bounty hunters, vigilantes, and so-called "law enforcement"
She freed over 300 slaves by her sheer bravery and relentless mission travel on the "underground railroad" from north to south and back again.
"Never lost a passenger"
Popularized in three movie/documentaries: "Harriet" starring Cynthia Erivo,"A Woman Called Moses", staring Cicely Tyson, and the TV series "Underground".

"Harriet" is the first feature film about Tubman, who died in 1913, but went unrecognized by Hollywood in the years since. Cicely Tyson starred as Tubman in the 1978 NBC miniseries A Woman Called Moses. (our favorite at the Fine Treehouse Building screening room.)
